Looking out my backdoor!

A few days ago, I looked out the backdoor to see that my Texas Sage was blooming. Beautiful!
My Vitex is also in full bloom. I adore the bluish purple color!

I think it is also called Texas Lilac.

Around the side of the house, my daylilies are blooming prolifically. I need to move some of them to an area that is more visible from the patio.
This is "Strawberry Candy".
This is "Pandora's Box". It is definitely one of my favorites.

The "Maid of Orleans" is beginning to bloom too!

My Cannas will bloom soon.
I am not sure of the name of these daylilies-possibly "Distant Galaxy".

Rearranging

I'm still here. Just staying busy. I did a little rearranging on the patio. It all started with the new shelf from Hobby Lobby (only because it was 30% off). I already had everything on the shelf, well almost everything. The chicken on the left side of the top shelf was 50% off at Hobby Lobby. The patio still needs some tweaking. The pump sprayer doesn't belong there, but I had just been spraying mosquitoes. They WILL carry you away in the evenings. The back door needs to be re-painted since the paint did not adhere to the window frame!

A friend gave me the ceramic "bucket". I think I need to add some glass marbles or something to cover that florists foam! I was in a hurry to get things done before dark!

The old aquarium stand had been where the new shelf now sits. A wooden spool was in this corner, but critters liked to live in it! ( red wasps and a mouse)eeek! That blue pot with the wood is supposed to be a small fountain someday!A closer look at the shelf that started all the re-arranging. The Off bottle is another necessity because of the mosquitoes!
Oh, my another piece of poultry! I couldn't resist this while buying scratch grains at TSC. When it turns in the wind, it looks like the glass marble is going down the spiral.
I also put out some of my patriotic accessories in anticipation of summer. That sounds like I'm really on top of things, but it also means I just put away my EASTER accessories. Should I even admit that? I still need to put the red, white and blue lights on my front door grapevine swag, but the mosquitoes have talked me into waiting a few days.

Rainy weather visitor!

After over 6 inches of rain on Saturday morning, we have an abundance of "puddles". There is water standing in the pasture along our back fence. I'm guessing that is where this visitor came from. We can really hear their croaking in the evenings.
I opened the gate and shooed it out with a broom!

Yardman!

I'd like to introduce my yardman! He is not particularly thrilled with that title!

Beauty and the Beast!

Spring has brought much beauty to my yard and the surrounding countryside! Flowers are everywhere!

The warm weather also beings out the beasts! Snakes are on the move. My nephew found this one on their driveway and brought it for us to see. It is a hognose or spread adder. It is not venomous, but it definitely tries to look scary.
It puffs itself up and then hisses as it releases the air.
It kept these critters entertained!
When all else fails, it rolls over, squirms a bit and plays dead!
If you look closely, you can see the tongue sticking out.

Treasures from Mum!

My Mum (actually a dear family friend, but like a second Mom) recently gave me some treasures! The candle sconce found it's home in the entryway with the gold-framed mirror. I think the cross design also goes well with the rest of the crosses!
This Tiarra water pitcher has joined the glassware in the curio cabinet (Mum gave it to me several years ago).
She also gave me some very realistic silk veggies,
along with some ceramic veggies!
The bird teapot replaces the Easter basket on my table. I still haven't gotten around to camouflage the chip in the glaze.
For now the commemorative plate is on the drop front desk. I want to hang it with the cardinal plate that belonged to Gramma Marge. I need another plate to keep the grouping balanced. I still have some treasures to photograph and find homes for! Being a chicken "Momma" has been keeping me busy!
