The Lake

I haven't spent time at the lake in quite awhile. Of course, the lakes have all been very low due to the drought. Yippee, they are now at normal levels. This is Lake Texana, one of my favorite places! I was thrilled to visit my Pop and Barb along with brother, SIL and kids on Father's Day weekend.
My brother was fishing in a tournament hosted by area gas and oil supply companies. Numerous companies cooked food for everyone. The choices were wonderful. On Friday there was beer, sodas, frozen margaritas, Armadillo Eggs, steak, corn on the cob, empanadas, ettouffee, and beans. On Saturday, there were hamburgers and hotdogs with beans and corn on the cob. Saturday evening was the Fish Fry. We had to do lots of bike riding to burn off the calories!
I rode the nature trails with my niece and SIL. We explored the Breckenridge Family Cemetery. It had this wall on all four sides with no gate. The historical marker said that the family had the fence erected without a gate so that it would never be used to hold cattle.

My nephews wanted to join some boys they met in the park in a paintball game. So we all went to watch the action.
Boy was it hot!
I think that is a hit!
Ouch, another hit!
After the hot game, we took a break for watermelon grown by Pop and Barb in their garden.

That evening, the boys returned to the Paintball field to use up some ammo! Their Papa joined them this time.

I think these two would love to join the fun.
Fun times!
Y'all come back,
Lorilee

  3. What a fun time.... and yes.... I've heard that paint ball hits can hurt a bit. Nice of Dad to join in the fun and show them how it's done.... or was it the other way around? LOL
