My new vintage mantel clock!

I was thrilled to win the ebay auction for this clock. It is from 1928 or 1929. It plays Westminster chimes on the hour and a shortened version on the 1/4 and 1/2 and 3/4 hours. I love hearing it! The photo behind it is my Mom's great-grandmother and step-great-grandfather.

  1. Oh, Lorilee, you know me, always looking at the details! Does it wind, and how often? Can you turn the chimes off?
I love clocks (almost as much as lamps), especially if they chime, cuckoo, or make a noise! I have several that chime, but have to turn them off at night, they bother hubby.

  2. I have one that is very similar-- belonged to my grandfather. I adore it.

  3. Hi Nola,
I can turn off the chimes if I wish. It is doubtful that I ever will, since that was a requirement! It must be wound every 7 days. I have to wind it in the holes at the #4 and #8.
    Blessings,
    Lorilee
