Sweet and Startling Surprises!

I like the different textures and shades of green in these plants!

The Texas Wisteria is covered in tiny buds! This is a sign of a sweet surprise to come!

YIKES! Well, not exactly my words when I opened my compost bin and found this snake skin! I hope I never meet the owner!

Ya'll Come Back!

  1. Oh my! That snake skin brought back a scary memory for me. I was doing some weeding in a planter that is surrounded by a stacked stone wall. I stood up to rest my back for a moment and when I looked down there was a snake draped across my foot! Thank goodnes I was wearing sneakers and not my sandals! I am not afraid of snakes but the shock of seeing it on my foot caused me to let out a shriek. My neighbors must have thought I was crazy! I love the vinca vine in the first picture. I had some in that very same planter I was just talking about and it grew so beautifully.

  2. Things are really looking good in your garden, EXCEPT for that icky snake skin. That would have freaked me out..I do NOT like snakes. The wisteria is my yard bloomed last week and the rain over the last few days has knocked some of the flowers off but they still are beautiful.

Can't wait to see you finalized dry creek AND your garden. :)

  4. I'm always finding snake skin in our wood pile. My daughter keeps it in a snake skin collection box. Kids have the weirdest collections.

  5. Wild fern is starting to pop up in my garden. It looks like what you show in your photo. I love how it looks against other plants and textures. No snakes!

  6. Be glad the snake skin wasn't in your vanity in your bathroom. That brought on a blood curdling scream that could have been heard 3 counties away.
Keep us informed with pics of your wisteria.

  7. Lots of pretty things to look at here today. (Though I wouldn't quite put a snakeskin in that category!)
