I was thrilled that there was a Clarks Bostonian Outlet at the San Marcos Outlet mall. I found this pair of wedges. I normally don't wear very high heels, but I can actually walk in these wedges!
I liked them so much that I wanted them in the taupe color as well. They are a discontinued shoe, so I had a rather difficult time finding them. After some diligent searching online, I found them in my size. A happy day!

Sister TIme
A few weeks ago, I rode with my SIL to take their oldest son to camp in the Texas Hill Country. As we were riding along the highway, I looked up to see several skydivers. By the time I got my camera ready, I only managed to get one! Then we noticed the sign for the Skydiving School.
We stopped at a Buccee's. Of course we had to get some fudge there! Then we had to run into a Wal-Mart for some last minute items for my nephew's camp list.
We ate lunch in Johnston City and had a quick tour of Lyndon B. Johnson's early childhood home.
I loved this screen door and sleeping porch.
I have always been fascinated with lightening rods.
This is my SIL and nephew waiting for the tour of the home to begin.
After leaving my nephew at camp and taking a quick drive through Inks Lake State Park, we ended up at Longhorn Caverns State Park. The caverns were closed, but we were able to explore the Observation Tower. It gave us a wonderful view of Falkenstein Castle.
From there, we drove to Austin to watch the Mexican Free-tail bats emerge from under the Congress Street Bridge. We definitely covered a lot of ground that day! We stayed the night at my SIL's aunts house. After church on Sunday, my SIL's two aunts joined on a trip to San Marcos and the Outlet Mall. We ate lunch and shopped until the stores closed! We headed for home.
I unpacked and went to bed, only to be awakened with the news that Brian was fine, but had been in a wreck. (see previous posts)

When a friend gives you figs.....
...make fig preserves. A wonderful friend shared some of these huge figs from her tree with me! I adore fig preserves. So, of course, I made some. That is my son's hand. My arms aren't that hairy!!
Simply cook with equal parts sugar until it begins to thicken.
Add lemon slices.
Yummy.

Friday the 13th on Monday!
This happened on Monday! Can you see the sick look on his face? The top of the jeep is in a heap in the front of it.
He was approaching an intersection to turn left. Another vehicle made a right turn into his lane and slammed into his driver's side front tire, knocking it off and flipping the jeep.
Thankfully, he WAS wearing his seatbelt.
That silvery colored wreckage is from the other car. The other driver was also wearing his seatbelt and not injured.
We went to the wrecker yard to salvage personal items from the jeep. We found his phone minus the battery and back. We took it to the store and borrowed a battery to see if it still worked. It did. So, we ordered a new battery. He has been lost without transportation or a phone! I have been taking him to and from work.
He crawled out of this window while the jeep was turned over.
This is the tire that was torn off!
We are so thankful that he was not injured!

Blingy shoes
I recently joined the fad of blingy shoes! I don't want to wear my expensive leather sandals in wet weather or sandy places! I did add to my Clarks collection after a trip to the Premium Outlet Mall in San Marcos. I'll post a photo of the awesome black wedges I found soon.

God Bless America
Happy Independence Day. I thought I would share some of my favorite quotes.
"We the people, are the Rightful masters of both Congress and the Courts.
Not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."
Abraham Lincoln
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who do not."
Thomas Jefferson
"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have."
Thomas Jefferson
"When the government fears the people, there is liberty.
When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
Thomas Jefferson
"He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else."
Benjamin Franklin
We will be staying home with the family and watching our local fireworks from our front yard.
God Bless America,
