Up before the sun!

We awoke well before sunrise to have coffee and sausage rolls before heading out to the deer blinds. In the morning, I hunted with my nephew, Devin. It was a foggy morning. We saw a doe with a yearling first. Later two more deer appeared. At first, we thought it was 2 does, but after looking through binoculars, we could tell that one was a nubbin buck. I didn't take any photos of them because my camera makes too much noise.
We had agreed to all leave our stands at 9 a.m.. This is grandma Barb coming to meet up with us and then head up to the mule.

During our walk back to the mule, I noticed a small tree with several kinds of lichen or moss growing on it.

I couldn't resist taking photos of it!

There was even a snail calling the tree home!

We all returned to the camper and had bacon, eggs, pancakes, coffee and milk for brunch! Next on our agenda was a nap!

Devin and Brian were asleep before the table was cleared! A late night celebrating Halloween, and then rising before the sun left them tired!

Later in the afternoon, Brian had to check in with his friend who was hunting with his father!

The guys also did some work on the 4-wheeler. Pop is finishing up an oil change!
Trixie relaxed in the sun wondering why nobody was throwing a frisbee or stick for her to chase!

  1. I wish I could sometimes take a nap in the day time. But never been able to do so. I admire people who can. I'm a strictly dark outside sleeper! Looks like you're having fun.
