BIG EGG for BrEaKfAsT!

I used the big egg I found last week for breakfast this morning. Here are the eggs, washed and ready to crack!
AHA, the BIG egg was a double yolker! I have heard of them, but this is the first one I've found! COOL!

  1. Ouch. Looks easier than having a big baby though. A while back I was buying my eggs at Costco and for about 3 months every single carton had at least one double yolk in it. Sometimes 3 or 4. Very strange. Wonder if they were somehow engineering them that way...I haven't bought eggs there for a long time so don't know if that's still happening. Mimi

  2. Wow with the size of that egg it looked like it could have been the Octochicken that pushed that thing out.

  3. Hi Lorilee,
I've had a few of those over the years. If a recipe calls for 2 eggs does that count? he-he

  4. Congratulations on your first double yolker!!! I haven't had one for a while but I got them all the time when my White Leghorns first started laying. It would have to hurt them!!

  6. Yowzer! I've gotten two of those big ones so far. They are so fun! I hate to crack them, don't you. I just like lookin' at 'em. I had four egg whites this morning for breakfast. It kills me to get rid of the yolks!

  7. When I was a child the double yolk egg was much sought-after! There are special but can't remember if it's good luck or just good to eat! Enjoy anyway!
