As I drove to school, I retraced my footsteps upon arriving home on Wednesday. C'mon think. After school, I went to Hancock Fabrics to get fabric for a Gator Gourmet apron (more about that later). Then I went to clogging practice. Next came the stop at Wal-Mart for milk, apples, bananas, and bagged salad and the impulse purchase of potted daffodils! So far so good--had to have the key to be driving--couldn't have left it any of those places. Now what did I do after I pulled into the garage. OH NO, I cleaned some tissues and wrappers out of the console. AAAAAGH I must have dropped the key into the trash with that handful. YUCK, I hate digging in the trash.
I looked in the garbage can as soon as I pull into the garage! NOPE not there. Keep looking. As I put my purse in the laundry room, I saw THE KEY! Yippee! Hooray! Do the Happy Dance! There it is in the Hancock Fabric bag! I must have dropped it as I was carrying my bags into the house!
Ya'll Come Back!

DEAR LORILEE,
ReplyDeleteI'M GLAD YOU FOUND YOUR KEY. I HAVE HAD THOSE DAYS...ONE DAY I LOOKED EVERY WHERE FOR MY GLASSES...NO WHERE TO BE FOUND...GETTING FLUSTERED AND COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY MY HEAD FELT SO TIGHT...THEY WERE ON MY HEAD...LOL...I FELT REAL DUMB.

I personally think the keys get up and go somewhere on purpose!
ReplyDeleteI am amazed that you found them. I have to share I have had to dumpster dive a few times in my life too!
ReplyDeleteRoberta Anne
Well done for finding them! At least they were somewhere relatively sensible. I always manage to put my keys somewhere completely absurd!

Hi Lorilee...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your visit..and come back soon. I am, in just a minute, gonna post some chickens..in chicken scratch/gingham stitch. I hope you like them..xx..:)
Glad you found your keys....I was laughing but also could SO RELATE! Isn't that just the worst when you KNOW they have to be close by but you just can't find them. Thank goodness for see-through bags. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteLoosing keys is one of my specialties. In fact, I'm still trying to find our keys that open the garage door before my hubby kills me!

Luckily I have not yet locked myself out of my car. But I'm so absent-minded, it's liable to happen.

A similar thing happened to us at the grocery store. We unlocked the car, put in the bags, climbed in, NO KEYS. They were in the bottom of the very last bag of groceries, and it was below zero in that parking lot while we searched and emptied bags out looking for those keys!
ReplyDeleteI HATE looking for things. Especially keys. Glad you found yours. Mimi
ReplyDeleteI'm always misplacing my keys. I love you organized and colorful spare key rack. I might make one myself.
ReplyDeleteI had an episode like this a few days ago! I was trying on coats (cuz ya know they're all on sale now!) and my keys slipped out of my coat pocket when I draped it over some rack in one of the three stores I visited. Never found them. I think I need a spare key rack like yours.
ReplyDelete...please where can I buy a unicorn?
