Flowers from my sweety!

Last weekend, my sweety had to make a run to Wal-Mart for something we had run out of. He brought home some pretty flowers for me. I love the green mossy ones. Does anyone know what they are called?

Fall Color in Texas!

We don't get the sudden change of color in the foliage in South Texas. Golden Raintree seedpods are a source of color for us instead.

I am especially fond of the plumes on grasses!
They are awesome when backlit by the sun!

Mexican Mint Marigold is blooming now. The leaves are scented like licorice.

My Chinese Fringe Flower is blooming again too!

My "Little John" Dwarf bottlebrush is also beginning to bloom.

I am also thrilled to be getting numerous blooms on my Angel Trumpet. It will freeze back when we get a heavy frost.
This poor plant has been living in the pot that it came in! I will move it when it finishes blooming or goes dormant.

I think this is called Merilla Perilla. Of course, I am not known for my great memory! I do love anything with purple blooms or foliage!

I've hardly had time to blog until this evening. On Friday evening, my SIL came by. She had time to kill while her sons were at a birthday party. We went to the local burger joint, Jim's Big Burger. It is family owned, and they were celebrating their 30th Anniversary. Besides, specials and T-shirt give-aways all week, they had the "Toast of the Coast" barbershop harmony group performing. We really enjoyed their performance. We also each got T-shirts!
Most of the employees dressed up for Halloween on Saturday. Dustin came by that morning to get his Renaissance outfit. I talked him into this hair-style to go with it.
Brian, as usual, had a crowd of friends show up. We also had other visitors. My brother and some of his family came by, along with my Dad and Step-mom. I was so busy and visiting that I didn't get many photos taken! We finally headed to bed around midnight.
