The girls love "recess"! I know this because they meet me at the gate of their run and practically knock me off my feet to get out! Blossom and Holly have learned to get out of the run! They can frequently be found wandering and scratching in the yard! Bad girls!
The dogs don't like them on the patio and chase them off! That is a good thing since I don't want their poop on my patio! They've also picked a spot in one of my flowerbeds for dirt baths! I'm not thrilled with their choice.
Hi Lorilee, The expressions (if you can all it that) on their faces just cracks me up. Are they in a protected area when you let them out of their run? Yes, I'd be a little unhappy too if they chose my flowerbeds for baths! Enjoy the holiday weekend! Hugs, Loretta
These girls are pretty - love their color! What kind of chickens are they? (I'm hoping to get my own next year and am "shopping"!) At least with the dark color you won't notice the dirt :-)
I teach 4 year olds during the school year. In my spare time(haha), I enjoy clogging, gardening, sewing, cake decorating, and old things! I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two sons, ages 27 and 17!
We have 2 dogs (Honey and Lexi), a rabbit (Chewey),three cat (Samson, Rascal and Bella) and 7 chickens. The hens are Blossom, Buffy, Scarlet, and Matilda. I had on roo, Gottlieb. Then I let Buffy sit on some eggs and I ended up with 2 more roosters. My coop is called Cackleberry Cottage.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your visit. I enjoy sharing all the wonderful "little things" that make life so special! Say hello and leave a comment!

Chickens are so fun, just not in the flower beds. Mine don't get out too often, but they also have a 1acre pasture to roam.
ReplyDeleteI still love the pictures.

I've been bad. I have been reading your blog but not commenting. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed how big your "chicks" are. What does the older hens think of them now?
