Vintage ice chest

Look what I found. It was in my grandparents workshop! It was covered in dust and grime. I can't believe the tray and can/bottle opener were still inside! Ha Ha, I just noticed that Rascal is checking it out in the photo above.
The only drawback is that it is a bit heavy, even while empty! It is a Therm-a-Chest made by Knapp Monarch Company of St. Louis Missouri. I'm thinking it would best be used to ice down drinks here at home. What do y'all think?

  2. What an unusual ice chest! It would be great used at home barbecues or inside for casual suppers.

  3. Wow, that's a great find! I love vintage stuff. I wonder how well insulated it is? (Just curious as to how well things were insulated back then!)

  4. It looks so familiar! :-) I bet my parents had one just like it at one time.

That 2004 snow must have been AWESOME...on Christmas no less. Now that's when it should snow!
