Last Saturday evening, I set the box trap in my garden. I suspected that there was at least one more raccoon coming around looking for food a.k.a. chickens. I used an apple as bait. Sunday morning, I was greeted by a fat and unhappy coon. We were lucky to have a cardboard box that we could slip over the trap. We hauled it to a nearby river bridge and let it go under the bridge.
It took off and never looked back. On the way to school on Monday, I saw a dead coon on the side of the highway at the bridge. I sure hope it wasn't our coon! That would be rotten luck for it!
an apple huh? I have been trying to figure out how to trap one of those pesky critters myself without trapping my 10 cats. That is a great idea. Cats don't like apples. Now that pesky coon can go to a new home farther in the country. Debbie
I think I have one climbing my fence at night and digging for grubs in my flower beds. Poor peeps must of been so scared seeing a racoon hanging around the hen house. Glad you caught him! Hugs, Loretta
I teach 4 year olds during the school year. In my spare time(haha), I enjoy clogging, gardening, sewing, cake decorating, and old things! I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two sons, ages 27 and 17!
We have 2 dogs (Honey and Lexi), a rabbit (Chewey),three cat (Samson, Rascal and Bella) and 7 chickens. The hens are Blossom, Buffy, Scarlet, and Matilda. I had on roo, Gottlieb. Then I let Buffy sit on some eggs and I ended up with 2 more roosters. My coop is called Cackleberry Cottage.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your visit. I enjoy sharing all the wonderful "little things" that make life so special! Say hello and leave a comment!

Sounds like it was easier for y'all to get rid of that one than what Joy went through last year.
