How about wine bottle plant/row labels in the garden.
I like to use Citrus Magic to remove the labels. It is actually an air freshener, but it does the job beautifully while smelling good! Then I use a paint pen to write on the wine bottle. Hmm, Now I need more empty wine bottles.
Y'all come back,
Lorilee
I love the idea of using wine bottles for plant/row labels. So creative. I also adore your bottle tree. I'd love to have one in my garden. Seems like empty wine bottles are not hard to find in my house, LOL:)
ReplyDeletePS Thanks again for the blogger award. You made my day:) I'm writing a post and planning on passing on the blogging love. Thanks again.
Love what you are doing with the wine bottles! Thanks for the tip with Citrus Magic, too!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I was working on a wine bottle re-use idea. It didn't work. I like yours. Thanks for the Citrus Magic tip. I have the hardest time getting the labels off of anything. When I was a kid we would just soak them in hot soapy water. It doesn't really work that well anymore.
ReplyDeletei have a full bottle tree, also. i put it up under an oak tree with some flagstone work nearby - just because i was afraid of the hot summer sun glinting off the glass and starting a wildfire! hope your garden is safe! :)
ReplyDeleteI've got one small flower bed that has a wine bottle border. My hubby buried them about 1/2 in the ground.
ReplyDeleteGood idea for markers.
I also have a hanging bottle tree. Used a 4x4, big nails and a big eye hook to hang it from the porch.
Of course, you can do like me and have several bottle trees in your yard!
How interesting. I saw one once filled with mostly blue bottles.
ReplyDeleteI saw a cool DIY project recently where someboday took wine bottles and cut off the tops and made drinking glasses. You need a glass cutter/filer for that though. Love this idea! I've always wanted a bottle tree.
ReplyDeletePlant another bottle tree!
ReplyDeleteHey Lorilee! You were one of my winners of the earring giveaway we did a few weeks ago... sorry it's taken me a while to get in touch with you. I couldn't find an email address for you anywhere on yoru blog, so I'm just leaving you a comment :) Can you email me with your address and the color of earrings you'd like? Thanks so much! I am going to get them done this weekend and mailed off on Monday. Have a fabulous weekend!

OK, you are just TOO clever! What a great idea for the wine bottles, and I have to try that citrus spray. I always get so aggravated trying to remove labels (I save my spaghetti sauce jars for later canning...they are the only store bought ones that are tempered enough to use that way, and jars are SOOOO expensive!) Love your bottle tree, too, by the way.
ReplyDeleteI needed to put you the little bit of observation just to thank you so much as before for your awesome opinions you have discussed on this page.
