I'm still on my garden tour high! This morning my co-worker, Pat, mentioned that she was planning to go to Devereax Gardens, a nursery several miles from our school.I really should have been going grocery shopping, but I couldn't resist going to look at plants! We wandered through the greenhouses for at least an hour. We both found plants to buy. We saw many plants that had been in the gardens on the tours! I think my total was 13 plants for $27. Of course, I'll be sharing some photos soon! Back to last Saturday's garden tour.
I really like this plant, Bat-Faced Cuphea. It comes is several colors.

This house was on the local historical home tour earlier this spring. I love the detail on the gable. The gardens were gorgeous too!
This gate is in the backyard of the same house. The pool pump is behind the fence and gates. There was a gardenia blooming in the backyard. It smelled wonderful. I was smitten. Pat liked it too! She bought one for each of us. She surprised me with mine this morning! She also brought a carrot cake muffin from Halepaska's for me. Halepaska's is a great local bakery. They call it a muffin, but is tastes like a big carrot-cake cupcake complete with the cream cheese frosting! She is spoiling me!Ya'll Come Back!

I love the Bat-Faced Cuphea. This pic really shows how beautiful the flower is. Such amazing color! The scent of gardinia is beautiful. I love the gates that hide the pool pump. What a fantastic idea. There's nothing uglier than pool pumps and heaters in a landscape. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Loretta

I dont think that is a moth...I am pretty sure that is technically called a hairstreak butterfly (leave this up to a nerd that has been up way too late). Another tell tale sign is the shape of the antennae--they are not feathery like a moth and usually a when landing a butterfly will land with its wings up and a moth with its wings spread. Here is an example of a hairstreak butterfly similar to yours:
