They ARE spoiled. I decided to plant some spinach and lettuce. I ran out of room in the planters I had lying around. I decided to put some in the garden, but I had to Chicken Proof an area first.
I had some of this plastic fencing in the barn, so I made a temporary enclosure for my spinach and lettuce. Grow little plants.
I just found your blog thru Sunny Morning Farm, and it is truly a delight to see all of your "girls" posts! I myself am just getting started in raising backyard chickens and I already refer to them as "girls" and I don't even have any chickens yet!! I will definitely add you to my favorites!
Your girls are real beauties! Great pictures, too. It was my job to collect the eggs when I was a young child so I have a special place in my heart for chickens. Have a blessed week. Sharon
Oh How jealous I am of you gardening in January!!!!! Your girls sure do look happier than mine in the foot of snow here ;-) Can they pack their bags and come south for the rest of the winter?
My grandparents had chickens and moved the coop around every few years and planted the garden where the coop had been. They always had the BEST garden from all that great fertilizer. Mimi
I am the sort of guy who passions to taste unprecedented stuff. Presently I'm fabricating my personal solar panels. I'm doing it all by myself without the assistance of my men. I'm utilizing the net as the only path to acheive that. I discovered a truly amazing site which explains how to build pv panels and so on. The website explains all the steps needed for solar panel construction.
I'm not really sure about how correct the information given there iz. If some experts over here who had xp with these things can have a see and give your feedback in the site it would be great and I'd extremely appreciate it, because I really passion solar panel construction.
I teach 4 year olds during the school year. In my spare time(haha), I enjoy clogging, gardening, sewing, cake decorating, and old things! I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two sons, ages 27 and 17!
We have 2 dogs (Honey and Lexi), a rabbit (Chewey),three cat (Samson, Rascal and Bella) and 7 chickens. The hens are Blossom, Buffy, Scarlet, and Matilda. I had on roo, Gottlieb. Then I let Buffy sit on some eggs and I ended up with 2 more roosters. My coop is called Cackleberry Cottage.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your visit. I enjoy sharing all the wonderful "little things" that make life so special! Say hello and leave a comment!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder. If I give them scraps of greens do you think they'll still go for the garden? Time to look into a chicken wire purchase!
