Ornaments, Ornaments EVERYWHERE!

This weekend was THE weekend for taking down the Christmas decorations. Every surface in the living room was covered with ornaments so I could sort them and pack them! The ornments above are cloth and homemade.
Many of these are breakable. Do you notice an abundance of birds? I also have quite a few angel ornaments.

We even have an ornament for each pet we have had. Lexi and Honey are the current pets. I made the Heidi and Butch bones years ago with bread dough and slick paints!

Each of my sons has his own tub of ornaments. Dustin also has nice collection of Star Wars ornaments that I did not put on the tree this year. Our slimline tree will no longer hold all of our ornaments!
This is Brian's collection of ornaments.

My Mom made these with plaster of paris and I painted them when I was 13 years old.

I have made these as favors for Cookie Exchange parties. A wooden rolling pin, an oven mitt and an apron.
Last of all, we bought this ornament this summer on our way home from Fredericksburg. We stopped in Luckenbach for a visit. I will be going to Luckenbach next Saturday for Luckenbach on Taps! It is a clogging workshop! I can't wait. This is my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY as a CLOGGER! woohoo! My sweet sister-in-law, Marie and my niece, Hannah will be accompanying me!
Ya'll Come Back!

  1. Got to love a homemade ornament! I have only a few from my childhood but my kids will have more. Hubby is from Gatesville and the mound, 20 minutes outside Waco.

  2. Your ornaments look like my ornaments only different. Make sense? I have a smaller tree now too so I put a garland up over a window (inside) and decorated that too. Still had ornaments left over! Yikes. Have fun in Luckenbach. Mimi

  4. I think it's nice that your sons have special ornament collections all their own. I give my kids an ornament every year, but they're all mixed in with the general collection. It would be nice for them to be separated out so that they can take them along someday when they set up their own households.

I'm also a clogger!! But can't find anyone to clog with here in NY. So do a few shuffles for me, ok?
