Mystery Project Unveiled!

Time for phase 2 of the Mystery Project! David is drilling holes with some help from our friend, Chuck!
A cool front just blew in. I can't believe David is out in his barefeet!

Sandy is putting on the final touch--- the old insulators! Her Dad's business was contracted to take down old electrical poles. She gave some to me, so we each now have an "Insulator Tree".

Groovy huh? We modeled it after the tradtional southern bottle tree! I can't wait to see it with some sunlight on it!

Here it is "planted" in my empty veggie garden!

A couple of extra insulators make nice finials on my tomato cage lighted topiaries! No shortage on classy decor here!

  1. Love it. It's going to be great because you can move it all over the place. Great way to recycle. Mimi

  2. OH FUN!! How pretty is that?? I love those glass insulators but never knew what I'd do with them. I'll be looking for them next time I'm out at thrift and antique stores. Enjoy it!!

  3. I love it! Wonder how long it would take me to come up with enough of those glas insulators to have a small tree in the flowerbed on the side of the house?

I have a bottle tree in my back flowerbed. Not everyone 'gets it' but that's okay.

  5. That is soooo cool!

It would probably be stolen out of my yard like my big obsidian boulder was. :(

  6. I love insulators, but I only have one turquoise beauty that I use as a paperweight. How lucky you are to have a whole "tree" of them.
