Chicken and Watermelon, it's not what you think!

No, it is not my morning B.C. (before coffee) brain fog! It is what happens in muggy South Texas when I step out of my air-conditioned house. I get lens fog.
I gave the girls some watermelon rind. My Dad bought a 50 pound watermelon at the family reunion auction last weekend. It was huge and delicious.

When Ethel eats, everybody steps back!

I think the girls liked it. This is all I found that afternoon. I think that is Holly looking for one last tidbit. (I have decided to call the 6 new chickens Blossom, Daisy, Sunny, Holly, Rosie, and Lily.)
Ya'll Come Back!

  1. Love your photos of your "family picnic." Happy 4th to you and your family.

  2. How cute is that! Who doesn't love a little cold watermelon when it's hot out. Love the new chickens names! Thank you for continuing to post about them. It has been a joy watching them grow! Blessings, Loretta

  3. Adorable names for your chickies and I love that they're eating watermelon!

Blessings on you today too. Thank you for your comment. Kelly

  4. Geez, those chicken were lucky to have such refreshing snack on a hot day.

  5. Great names! Sure liked that watermelon, no?!

Am very grateful that we do not have your humidity! If's that high it had better rain!

Howdy, Thanks for dropping in. I love to hear from you!
