I was thrilled to win the ebay auction for this clock. It is from 1928 or 1929. It plays Westminster chimes on the hour and a shortened version on the 1/4 and 1/2 and 3/4 hours. I love hearing it! The photo behind it is my Mom's great-grandmother and step-great-grandfather.

Oh, Lorilee, you know me, always looking at the details! Does it wind, and how often? Can you turn the chimes off?
ReplyDeleteI love clocks (almost as much as lamps), especially if they chime, cuckoo, or make a noise! I have several that chime, but have to turn them off at night, they bother hubby.
I have one that is very similar-- belonged to my grandfather. I adore it.
ReplyDeleteHi Nola,
ReplyDeleteI can turn off the chimes if I wish. It is doubtful that I ever will, since that was a requirement! It must be wound every 7 days. I have to wind it in the holes at the #4 and #8.
Blessings,
Lorilee
